Community Hike

Join us for a community hike on Friday, November 24! This event is open to anyone who would like to walk with us on an easy level hike on the local Ragged Mountain Natural Area trail. A light snack will be provided! This is a great opportunity to explore a way to practice an active form of self-care.

Please come prepared with a bottle of water, appropriate hiking attire (comfortable walking shoes like hiking boots, trail runners, or a standard pair of tennis shoes and layers of clothing), extra snacks if you need, and a small backpack. We will meet in the upper parking lot at 9:30 am and begin hiking at 9:45 am. We will take at least one break and will aim to return to the parking lot at 11:30 am. This hike is 3.7 miles in length and will cover 210 feet of elevation gain. We will take a portion of the upper trail and return to the parking lot by using the lake front trail. This hike is kid friendly, but please leave your dog at home since the area does not permit animals.

Driving Directions: After taking the Fontaine Ave. exit off US-29, you will head west of Charlottesville on Reservoir Rd. In just under 2 miles after driving on a narrow, paved road, you will take a right at the fork opposite the Camp Holiday entrance. Continue on the steep paved road that will eventually turn into a gravel road. Drive along the reservoir and you will end at the parking lot at the top of the hill. Please RSVP for this event!
