Immediate Steps

The first few days after a sexual assault can be a very confusing time. You may have questions and be faced with difficult decisions. During this time you may not want, or be ready, to make many of these decisions. This is normal and okay.

Immediate steps include: Seeking safety, medical care and evidence collection, and engaging support.

Child Safety

Recognizing the signs of child abuse and what to do if abuse is suspected.

Connect with Support Services

Connect with SARA's advocacy and therapy services through our 24/7 hotline (434-977-7273), office phone (434-295-7273), or present to the UVA emergency department.
