Prevention: Programs

Our Approach and Vision

Vision: To create sustainable culture change that focuses on emotional literacy, equity, and fostering healthy social norms by decreasing risk factors and increasing protective factors for violence prevention.

Our Approach: At SARA, we are committed to addressing the impacts of intersectional lived experiences and systemic inequity through evidence-based strategies. Our approach is grounded in understanding and supporting the diverse needs of individuals and communities. We employ a range of strategies to effectively support our community partners and clients, ensuring that our work is informed by best practices and research.

Trauma-Informed Care

We use a trauma-informed approach to ensure that our support is sensitive and respectful of past experiences. This helps create safe and inclusive spaces for everyone.

STOP SV Model

We follow the STOP SV Model for preventing sexual violence, which is based on proven practices. For details on this model, you can check the CDC’s guidelines here.

Evidence-Based Practices

We use research and evidence to guide our work, ensuring that our methods are effective and up to date.

By using these strategies, we aim to support our community partners and clients effectively and create positive, lasting change.
