Simcoe For SARA Release Party at Three Notch'd
Saturday, March 28 from 1-3 pm
Four Charlottesville breweries are coming together to raise awareness of and funds for the Sexual Assault Resource Agency (SARA). Champion Brewing Company, Reason Beer, South Street Brewery, and Three Notch'd Brewing Company are each brewing their own versions of a special beer to benefit SARA: Simcoe for SARA.
Each Simcoe for SARA will be different, with the underlying connection of the Simcoe hop. Simcoe is an American hop known for bright, citrusy flavors with earthy undertones. It is a favorite among American brewers and consumers alike. The brewers at each of these local businesses are putting their own twists on a Pale Ale that features Simcoe to have on tap for Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
All four versions of Simcoe for SARA will launch at their respective breweries at the beginning of April and be on tap throughout the month. A portion of proceeds from all sales will go to SARA. Each brewery has also committed to working with SARA on bystander intervention training for their staff.
The mission of the Sexual Assault Resource Agency (SARA) is to eliminate sexual violence and its impact by providing education, advocacy and support to men, women and children. Our vision is a community free from sexual violence.
