The SARA Hotline offers free, confidential, 24-hour support to sexual assault survivors, their friends and families, professionals, and the general public. Whether the caller is in crisis or just wants more information, a trained advocate is available.
The purpose of the hotline:
- When a survivor or secondary survivor is in crisis, she or he can call the hotline for someone to talk to who will believe and reassure the caller.
- When a survivor or other community member has questions about sexual assault, a specific experience, what to do next, or how to help a loved one, she or he can call the hotline to talk to a trained advocate who will provide as many answers as possible and offer information about resources and options.
- When a survivor or other community member needs to be connected to services that meet her or his specific needs, she or he can call the hotline for phone numbers and information about who can help.
