Imagine a community free from sexual violence. That’s SARA’s vision. Education can help make it happen.
SARA’s prevention education programs for children and adolescents
• promote healthy personal relationships
• build skills for safe intervention
• work to reduce the chance that students will commit sexual assault or be victimized.
Our educators focus on
• empathy
• personal boundaries
• media literacy
• conflict resolution
• bystander intervention
• gender myths.
Sexual assault prevention education promotes the acceptance of every person as valuable and worthy of respect and equal treatment. Prevention is not just about telling young people what not to do, but about promoting a healthy model for relationships.
SARA provides prevention education to students from kindergarten through college, either directly in schools or community settings or on a train-the-trainer basis. Education and awareness presentations are also available to the general public. Call our Child or Adolescent Educator at 434-295-7273 to learn more.
