Lisa Speidel of the UVA Women’s Center is leading our third brown bag discussion of April this Wednesday. This interactive workshop will introduce key diversity concepts, including an expanded definition of diversity, which is explored in the context of the workforce, the workplace and the community. Participants are introduced to new frameworks, processes and tools as they participate in an experiential activity and group discussions. This workshop moves beyond the traditional approach of simply incorporating contributions of different cultures into the workplace, and addresses ways we can examine our own role in enacting change and the necessary steps to structural change that can lead to true cultural competency.
Bring your lunch and join us for what promises to be a very interesting lunch discussion!
