The goals of SARA’s community education and training efforts are to increase public awareness about the impact of sexual assault, promote community involvement, foster a multi-disciplinary systems approach to victims of sexual assault and child sexual abuse, and challenge the prevailing attitudes and dispel the myths which perpetuate the problem of sexual assault. SARA offers free specialized training, workshops, and sexual assault prevention programming to the general public as well as to allied professional groups and individuals in Charlottesville, Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson counties. To request a training, please submit a training request form or contact the SARA office at 434-295-7273 and ask to speak to the Community Outreach Coordinator.
